

Drawing with pen and paint sticks
Sue will show you how to use the easily transportable mediums of pen and paint sticks on A4 paper. This workshop is suitable for beginners or experienced artists who wish to have more freedom in their expression. Sue's practice embraces mistakes and errors in her drawings, there is no erasure. Participants will develop the confidence to incorporate drawing into their daily practice and to experiment with a limited colour palette. Using a loose style students will complete a still life on paper.

Beginners to Intermediate Portraits
Sue will show you how to use the easily transportable mediums of pen and paint sticks on A4 papers. Sue's practice embraces mistakes and errors in her drawings, there is no erasure. She will encourage you to draw portraits that look to find expression beyond the face, show a person's character and energy and that sit within your own personal style. Bring with you a photo either printed or on phone/tablet of a person you would like to draw.

Intermediate to Advanced Portraits
Sue will show you how to use the easily transportable mediums of pen and paint sticks on A4 papers. Students should have some knowledge of basic principles of proportion, perspective and shade. Sue's practice embraces mistakes and errors in her drawings, there is no erasure. She will encourage you to draw portraits that look to find expression beyond the face, show a person's character and energy and that sit within your own personal style. Bring with you a photo either printed or on phone/tablet of a person you would like to draw.

Sue can deliver talks associated with her 2024 Lester Prize portrait "You can call me Viktor Stronger". The talk is a conversation about masculinity, disability and invisibility.
